The race, which attracted 184 competitors, was a day of XC racing with a difference - with competitors fearing a mud fest but instead being faced with snow, ice and absolutely freezing temperatures. The conditions certainly spiced up the (usually non technical!) course; a 2 mile run, 10 mile mountain bike and then another 2 mile run.
Much fun was had by all however, with the event being faultlessly run by Triferris Promotions and mountain bikers showing their hardiness! Out of 179 finishers, Rachel came 39th (1st out of 23 women), putting some good old corrective girl power to use! Fellow CCCC member David Koryczan also competed in the veterans category, coming 144th - well done to both.
